Who We Are

Mission-driven animal rescue built on calm care, fast response, and public trust.

Mahakal Animal Trust is a volunteer-led nonprofit helping injured, abandoned, neglected, and vulnerable animals. We combine field rescue, clinical support, foster placement, and adoption follow-through so each case is handled with dignity from start to finish.

Our Journey

Started in a garage, now operating as a citywide rescue network.

Two friends started taking night calls in 2016 and fostered the first rescues in their own homes. Over time, volunteer rescuers, doctors, fosters, and community supporters built Mahakal Animal Trust into a trusted emergency-response and rehabilitation team.

2016

First 20 rescues were handled through temporary foster homes and borrowed transport.

2019

The recovery center opened with ICU kennels and a treatment coordination desk.

2023

Wildlife rehab and disaster-response operations were added with partner support.

2025

The team crossed 4,500 rescues and 1,000 surgeries funded through donors.

Milestones

Capacity has grown because community trust kept growing too.

Every milestone represents more animals reached, more medical interventions funded, and more people trained to respond well.

12 ambulance and transport partners
18 ICU kennels active after the 2024 expansion
42 foster families caring for animals in recovery
